Position Summary
As Compliance Officer, you will be a visible, trusted partner to the Vice President and General Manager as well as the Canada leadership teams, shaping how GSK’s culture and values come to life every day. You will translate ethical principles into practical, measurable behaviors—building systems and processes that drive accountability, equip leaders, and protect the business from enterprise-level risks. By harnessing data analytics and insights, you will surface trends, guide decision-making, and proactively reduce compliance friction so the organization can compete with confidence. You will also recruit, develop, and coach a high-performing Compliance team that is curious, solution-oriented and empowered to act—creating a culture where compliance is seen as a strategic advantage rather than a constraint. In this role you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to deliver tangible improvements in risk management, governance and business performance.
Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Serve as a member of the Canada Leadership Team and International Compliance Lead Team
- Influence business priorities and activities using strategic thinking and industry knowledge
- Foster values-based decision-making and ensure robust governance frameworks
- Encourage business leaders, peers and direct reports to evaluate risk, generate solutions and ensure issues are escalated
- Facilitate the Risk Management and Compliance Board (RMCB) to define and oversee risk mitigation plans
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement fit-for-purpose compliance programs and systems
- Ensure Data Privacy compliance through the application of GSK’s Privacy framework
- Lead Canada’s investigations and disciplinary committee to uphold GSK’s Code of Conduct
- Direct independent business monitoring program across Canada’s business activities, including third-party providers
- Develop and mentor Compliance Officers, Directors, and Managers to sustain strategic capabilities and foster talent movement

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Finance, or Sciences
- Significant management experience in Pharma or aligned support functions, with expertise in compliance programs, risk management, and governance frameworks
- Strong advocacy skills and sound business judgment at senior levels within Pharma or aligned support function leading to an understanding of operational processes and technology concepts
- Proven experience leading and effectively managing teams across diverse geographies and cultures
- A track record of providing trusted advice and accountability to senior executives (SVP, GLT-1)
- Comprehensive organizational insight to identify areas of compliance risk and ensure alignment of compliance functions with business objectives
- Significant knowledge and management experience of compliance programs, processes and outcomes
- Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Mississauga office; relocation within Canada may be considered.
Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Post-graduate degree or professional qualification in Law, Audit, Finance
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders to proactively prevent compliance failures and uphold trust
- Strong organizational capabilities and proven ability to operate in an influencing capacity across multiple geographies, complex matrix structures, and at all levels, particularly with senior management
