Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health (NSH) invite applications for a full-time academic family physician (1.0 FTE) available in the Department of Family Medicine (Halifax). The successful candidate will be granted an academic appointment at Dalhousie University and be an active staff member with the Central Zone Department of Family Practice, NSH, and the IWK.This position offers exciting opportunities for professional development within academic family medicine in a dynamic department with over 800 community-based family physicians in 64 communities throughout the three Maritime provinces.

This position involves the provision of ambulatory, team-based, and comprehensive academic family medicine care including clinical supervision of medical learners. Academic responsibilities will include the training and evaluation of family medicine residents and medical students while contributing to the academic development and administration of the Dalhousie University Department of Family Medicine. An interest in academic leadership will be considered an asset for this position.

The successful candidate must have CFPC certification or equivalent and be a current and ongoing member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada or a current member of an equivalent group. The successful candidate must also be eligible to obtain a full license to practice in Nova Scotia. Favourable consideration will be given to applicants with evidence of advanced academic competencies such as relevant certificates or postgraduate degrees.

Academic rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with the appointment anticipated to commence as early as May 2026.
