The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking an EIT, Civil Technologist or Technician to join our Land Development & Municipal Engineering group, located in Swift Current, SK.
Reporting to the Manager this position will be involved in materials testing, surveying and drafting. Projects may include Municipal and Land Development infrastructure on greenfield, brownfield and infill land development projects in southwest Saskatchewan. The location for this role is Swift Current, SK. We welcome applicants from across Canada; relocation assistance to Swift Current will be considered.

A day in the life:
- Materials testing, inspections and surveying on construction projects and lab
- Drafting and design preparation
- Assisting Project Manager/Engineer with day to day project operations
- Review and assist in preparing specifications and reports
- Assist with preparing cost estimates and schedule of quantities
- Resolving construction issues with the assistance of the site project manager and field supervisors
- Participate in the preparation of engineering services quotes and proposals
- Quantity measurement and compliance support
- Other duties as assigned
- Occasional travel to support other offices (typically not more than 3 hours away)
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- EIT or Municipal Engineering Technology or Technician graduate. Equivalent experience with no post secondary education will be considered
- 2+ years of experience in either materials testing, design and drafting, or survey is an asset
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specs
- Familiar with CCIL, ASTM and CSA specifications
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, including teamwork and interpersonal abilities
- Comfortable in working independently to meet project deadlines, in both an office and field environment
- Familiar with municipal design guidelines an asset
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D an asset
- Working knowledge with Trimble survey equipment an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook also valuable
- Valid driver’s license
