The Business Process Architect (BPA) is the strategic visionary responsible for designing, documenting, and optimizing our business processes within the Transfer Agency operations model.In this role, you will act as the bridge between high-level business strategy and technical execution, ensuring every workflow is lean, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. Your mission is to transform complex, fragmented operations into streamlined, efficient systems by redesigning the "blueprints" of how we function to drive digital transformation and operational excellence.
Reports to: Managing Director, Transfer Agency Operations and Corporate Actions
Job Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Architecture: Provide overall direction and definition of the business operating model architecture to effectively support long-term business strategy and digital transformation.
Process Optimization: Conduct proactive research and analysis to identify improvement opportunities, defining project scope, prioritization, and deliverables to drive productivity, capacity, and quality.
Solution Design: Develop business operating models that demonstrate the interoperability of products, operations, and systems; ensure all solutions align with architecture standards and financial targets.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a key liaison between Business and IT partners to align technology frameworks with business plans and stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.
Capability Mapping: Lead the effort to identify, document, and prioritize business capability needs, translating them into actionable strategic roadmaps.
Project Oversight: Provide architectural governance for ongoing projects, ensuring requirements remain in strict alignment with the business architecture roadmap.
Stakeholder Management: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by managing relationships with business partners and sponsors, helping them articulate business cases and ROI.
Performance Metrics: Collaborate with Finance and Business leaders to design and track KPIs and customer experience metrics that identify and validate operational redesign requirements resource capacity and productivity benchmarks..
Knowledge Leadership: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for business architecture frameworks, tool selection, and methodology development; provide training and direction to business teams.
Must Have(s)
Proven experience in Business Architecture, Process Engineering, or Strategic Operations.
Expertise in business modeling methods and the ability to translate complex data into corporate knowledge resources.
Strong analytical skills to determine optimal paths for problem-solving (e.g., system enhancements vs. process changes).
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage external vendor relationships.
Experience with Management information systems Tableau, Power BI
Demonstrated ability to develop KPI reporting (i.e. productivity, quality scorecards and capability/workforce planning)
Nice to Have(s)
Professional certification in BPM (e.g., CBPP, OCBP) or Lean Six Sigma.
Experience within Transfer Agency Trust or other financial institutions
Familiarity with specific Business Architecture tool suites and methodology design.
Salary Range: 125K/year - 135K/year CAD. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
