Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Branch Business Account Manager (BBAM) you will manage member contact in-person, over the phone and virtually with comfort, while acting on all available campaigns and proactively contacting for opportunities of growth. The BBAM will be able to process a full range of complex transactions that include personal and mortgage credit and a broad range of business banking needs (transactional, lending and deposit).

The BBAM will support branch goals by proactively bundling Vancity products and services, actively participating in campaigns and member offers, while working with a diverse network of internal specialists. The BBAM will be able to complete a wide range of tasks, from opening accounts (retail and business) and including completion of credit applications for both businesses and retail individuals and will maintain availability in-branch to support new and existing members.

This is for a Full-time, Permanent role Located at Langley Community Branch (Branch 23) and reports directly to Branch Management Team.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Meeting with branch team to celebrate results, educate, recognize, and coach
  • Meeting with and understanding each member’s complete cashflow to determine their unique immediate, secondary, needs
  • Providing relevant, tailored advice that is documented in CRM and part of an advice and relationship continuum (a routinized business development lifecycle), not a one-off transaction. All interactions should be focused on results and should end with a “and next time we meet we will” vs a closed-ended good-bye
  • Proactively connecting with members to understand needs and provide relevant advice (this should be very focused on improving results across all lines of business, increasing the number of lines of business serving all members as well as number of services each member holds)
  • Engaging with partners across the organization to present a full-spectrum of advice, always pushing oneself to better present areas of the business and solutions you are less comfortable with


What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • University degree, on-the-ground business development experience (cold-calling included), lived-experience that may improve our ability to better serve under-served segments, relationship management experience
  • Demonstrated strong sales and referral results across lines of business
  • Minimum of 2 years in the Account Manager role & solid Lending Experience; proficient in residential mortgage  
  • Post Secondary Education/Diploma  in Finance or Commerce 
  • Successfully completed:
    • Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC), Canadian Securities Course (CSC), or Canadian Investment Funds Course(CIFC)
    • CUIC 210
    • Financial Planning I
    • 2 Additional Courses in a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Core Curriculum program. Program providers include BCIT, Canadian Institute of Financial Planning, Canadian Securities Institute, Ashton College and Advocis.
    • CUSOURCE’s Self-Employed Borrowers Course, Financial Statement Composition Course & Intro to Business Statements Analysis

    What You’ll Earn:

    This role offers a starting salary of $41.36 per hour as per the collective agreement. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
