Adecco is currently hiring a Bilingual HR Officer for a full-time 12-month temporary assignment in Ottawa, ON. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a unionized environment and is passionate about advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and organizational effectiveness.

You will support a wide range of human resources programs and services, including recruitment, labour relations, accommodation, employment equity, and process development. This role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and collaborative workplace.

  • Salary: $75,624 – $98,152 per year

  • Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid – up to 3 days on-site, 2 days remote based on operational requirements)

  • Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours per week, overtime as required)

  • Contract: 12-month Temporary Assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment and selection processes with an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens

  • Provide guidance on labour relations matters including grievance hearings and negotiations

  • Assist with talent management initiatives and workforce planning

  • Advise on accommodation and workforce adjustment processes

  • Contribute to employment equity, multiculturalism, and code of conduct/ethics initiatives

  • Support conflict resolution and HR process development

  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies

  • Utilize HRIS and applicant tracking systems to manage employee and recruitment data

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all HR matters

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Post-secondary education in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience and training; CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset

  • 3–5 years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment

  • Experience supporting recruitment and selection, talent management, grievance hearings, negotiations, accommodation, and HR process development

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with applicant tracking systems (preferably ADP), HRIS systems, and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Knowledge of legislation governing federally regulated employees, including the Human Rights Act, Canada Labour Code, Employment Equity Act, and Accessibility Act

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (CCC level – reading, writing, and oral)

  • Strong initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively

  • High level of discretion and confidentiality

  • Must meet bilingual requirements to be invited to the interview process
