Why this role is important?

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Supply Chain, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for carrying out daily warehouse tasks related to receiving, material handling, inventory, and shipping, while supporting procurement and supplies for Central Pharmacy Services in Calgary, AB. This role involves receiving, picking, checking, staging, and shipping drugs, medical supplies, and patient materials in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. Additionally, the Warehouse Associate performs general housekeeping, inventory checks, and quality assurance tasks, ensuring efficient and routine operations.

This a 12 month contract role with benefits. Shift times 02:00pm-10:00pm

What You will Do

Receiving

  • Receive any incoming products and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment

  • Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received

  • Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify team lead of findings

  • Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items

  • Put away received pharmacy inventory in the appropriate location in accordance with the established workflow.

  • Replenish shelves with supplies in the warehouse, production floor, drug walls.

  • Operate pallet jack and stacker in loading and unloading materials

Material Handling

  • Stock up all the supplies on the Production Floor

  • Flatten Boxes and dispose in recycle bin

  • Transport Finished totes from production to warehouse

  • Move empty totes from warehouse to production floor

  • Stock medication walls with order received by inventory

  • Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with relevant procedures and standards

  • Perform cycle counts in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principles.

Shipping

  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area

  • Prepare shipping totes by labelling, counting

  • Package and ship in accordance with SOP, packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices

  • Replenish packaging materials in the warehouse

What you bring:

Teamwork, Coordination, Organization, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Equipment Maintenance, Data Entry Skills, Dependability.

  • Post-Secondary Education with 1-2 years in warehouse and Inventory Pharmacy.

  • Creative problem solver and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • High attention to detail and accuracy is essential

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills 

  • 95% of the work is done while in a standing position.  Concurrently, 75% of this time is spent bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing and lifting objects up to 45lbs.

  • The physical environment is a clean warehouse area.

  • Strong skills in MS Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work various shifts Sunday-Saturday, depending on business needs

  • Ability to work on occasional Stat holidays.
