WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Client Lifecycle Management IT team is undertaking multiple complex initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve technology management and architectural governance across the organization. Candidates must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to apply the competency in new or complex situations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, communicating, and executing activities to ensure objectives are accomplished.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Develop and support the platforms to satisfy business and regulatory requirements by working with other groups to gather requirements, coordinate, develop and execute change to ensure objectives are accomplished on time.
- Manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
- Establish strong working relationships across business units.
- Be responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals.
- Maintain code quality and best practices across the stack.
- Document technical design / prepare required SDLC artefacts.
- Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner. Monitor and control activities according to plan.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- 7-10+ years of Java Server-side programming experience.
- Strong technical developer with 7+yrs hands on in Java, Spring, REST API, Web Services, and database technologies.
- Strong experience in multithreading and low latency applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to take ownership of assigned tasks, anticipate potential problems and take pre-emptive actions. Ensure that tasks are completed to a very high standard.
- Must be able to work as part of a team while also assuming ownership for your own work.
Nice-to-have:
- Capital Markets experience.
- Experience in Solace is a plus.
- Experience in Cloud platform is a plus.
- Experience in Docker is a plus.
- Experience working in a distributed team environment.
