Adecco is currently hiring an Apprentice Welder for a full-time opportunity in Halifax. This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional with strong welding experience who enjoys working in a shipyard or industrial environment.

If you have experience with SMAW and FCAW welding and are comfortable working in physically demanding environments, this is a great opportunity to join a long-term project.

  • Salary: $40–$43/hour + LOA ($166.50/day) + $220 weekly subsistence + $600 relocation support

  • Location: Halifax, NS

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM / 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM / 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM)

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform SMAW and FCAW welding in all positions (1–4) according to blueprints and specifications

  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding, flame-cutting, and air arc (carbon arc) equipment

  • Select appropriate filler materials and safely position heavy steel components

  • Work within fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments in a shipyard setting

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Valid Welder Trade Certification (union tickets not accepted)

  • Current 4-position SMAW and 4-position FCAW tickets

  • Confined Space, Fall Protection, and WHMIS certifications

  • Completion of Journeyman certification or registered apprenticeship

  • Ability to pass Government Security Clearance (background and credit check)

  • LOA eligibility requires a utility bill matching driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions

  • Must have full PPE including a fit-tested respirator
