 Team Overview:

Team and Job Overview:

·       The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

o      Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.

o      Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.

o      Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.

o      Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

Why Join the AI Centre of Enablement?

  • Help shape how AI is responsibly scaled across EDC, not just built in silos.
  • Work on enterprise‑grade, production AI products, not experiments.
  • Lead the transition from project-based to product-based AI delivery, establishing reusable capabilities that generate sustained value across the enterprise.
  • Influence strategy, governance, and delivery at a national institution with real economic impact.
  • Build and manage EDC's growing AI capability and product portfolio, bringing visibility and strategic oversight to AI solutions across their full lifecycle.
  • Be part of a foundational team defining how AI is delivered, governed, and sustained at EDC.

The AI Data Business Analyst is a practitioner‑grade analytical and facilitation professional embedded within EDC’s AI Centre of Enablement (AI CoE), supporting AI intake, governance, delivery, reporting, and operations across the enterprise.

This is not a traditional data analyst or reporting role. It is a hybrid business analysis and data analysis function that enables AI solutions to be assessed, governed, documented, monitored, and sustained across their full lifecycle — from initial intake through production operations.

The role operates at the intersection of AI delivery, analytics, governance, and operations, working hands‑on with AI products as they are proposed, prioritized, designed, deployed, monitored, and refined.

This position operates through analytical influence, facilitation, and documentation excellence rather than formal authority, making judgment, structure, and communication the primary levers of impact.

What you will be doing:

·       Enable AI intake and portfolio flow by processing use cases, maintaining authoritative AI registers, tracking SLAs, and supporting prioritization and portfolio reviews.

·       Elicit and document requirements and decisions by working with business and technical stakeholders to produce clear, fit‑for‑purpose artifacts that support delivery, governance, and operations.

·       Support Responsible AI, risk, and governance processes by producing and maintaining the analytical and documentary evidence required for assessments, reviews, and decision forums.

·       Design and maintain AI metrics, dashboards, and reports that provide visibility into portfolio health, governance posture, production performance, and value realization.

·       Analyze AI system behaviour and performance using operational, telemetry, and feedback data to surface risks, trends, and optimization opportunities.

·       Enable delivery and operational readiness by supporting Agile delivery activities, UAT, production readiness, and ongoing operational coordination.

·       Coordinate governance and operating cadence activities by preparing review materials, tracking outcomes, maintaining registers, and ensuring follow‑through on decisions.

·       Engage and influence stakeholders through structured insight and facilitation, translating complexity into clear recommendations that drive alignment and action.

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       5+ years experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or equivalent analytical roles within complex technology environments.

·       4+ years experience working closely with technical delivery teams (data, AI/ML, or software engineering) in Agile or iterative delivery models.

·       2+ years applied experience supporting or analyzing advanced analytics or AI‑enabled systems (e.g., ML, GenAI, decision automation).

·       4+ years experience producing structured requirements, decision records, and delivery artifacts consumable by technical teams.

·       3+ years experience designing or maintaining dashboards, metrics, or analytical models beyond traditional BI reporting.

·       2+ years experience operating in governance‑heavy or regulated environments, supporting risk, compliance, or assurance activities.

·       2+ years experience using industry‑standard delivery and requirements tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence).

What will make you stand out:

·       Advanced education, such as a Bachelors or Master’s in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.

·       Demonstrated ability to translate complex business or technical problems into clear, actionable documentation and insights for diverse audiences.

·       Relevant industry certifications, such as IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®), IIBA Agile Analysis Certificate, PMI Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Portfolio Management Professional (PMP), or certifications related to cloud security, data governance, or Responsible AI.

·       Hands‑on experience supporting GenAI or agent‑enabled solutions, including documentation, evaluation, workflow analytics, or feedback analysis.

·       Practical understanding of Responsible AI principles, including explainability, bias, transparency, and risk‑based controls.

·       Experience working with Azure‑based AI and analytics platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, Azure OpenAI, Azure Monitor).

·       Experience with data modeling technologies such as Erwin

·       Knowledge of Spark SQL

·       Programming experience: SQL, R, Python

·       Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, time management, priority planning and interpersonal skills.

·       Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills in matrixed, multi‑disciplinary environments.

·       Ability to design fit‑for‑purpose governance and analytics artifacts that scale beyond individual projects.

·       Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
