Adecco is actively seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join their team in Barrie, ON. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about maintaining financial accuracy and integrity.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and month-end processes, while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. If you're looking for a stable, full-time role with room to grow, this could be the perfect fit.
  • Pay Rate: $60k-$65k/year.

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
Responsibilities:  
  • Maintain Financial Records: Post journal entries, manage general ledger accounts, and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile and Resolve: Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Process Transactions: Handle accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and employee expense reports.
  • Support Reporting Cycles: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, government remittances, and other required reports.
  • Audit Readiness: Support both internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial data is aligned and accurate.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial insights and reporting as needed to support business decisions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow established accounting procedures and stay up to date with relevant financial regulations.
Requirements:  
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a similar role
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with Sage 50, MS Dynamics, SAP, or other ERP systems is a definite asset
  • Accounting Know-How: Solid understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial reporting
  • Detail-Oriented: You have a sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Self-Starter: Comfortable managing your own workload and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
