ACADEMIC RESPIROLOGIST OR INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPECIALIST

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and St. Joseph’s Healthcare invite applications for an Academic Respirologist or Infectious Diseases Specialist, with expertise in mycobacterial lung diseases. 

 

The successful candidate will work in the Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, where they may have access and mentorship to further leadership opportunities, including the medical lead for the clinic. They will also help in establishing formal Indigenous outreach to satellite centres, such as Brantford and beyond. Prior experience in such activities will be an asset to the position. Additional Respirology/Infectious Diseases (as applicable) inpatient and outpatient activities will be available across the McMaster University teaching hospital sites to complement the position.

 

This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

 

The successful candidate will be a full-time member with a dual appointment to both the Division of Respirology and the Division of Infectious Diseases and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Divisions. The successful candidate should have appropriate fellowship training and will be expected to fully participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.

 

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
