What is the opportunity?

RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to Canadian Banking’s revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative marketing efforts.

The successful candidate for this role will be tasked with providing thought leadership and strategic oversight for the acquisition activities of Retail Credit Cards in our proprietary digital and external paid digital channels.  As the Senior Manager, Retail Credit Cards Acquisition – Digital Channels, you will partner with product teams, be accountable for the successful execution and integration of business strategies across multiple key stakeholders, and be responsible for enhancing shareholder value creation through optimizing digital acquisition to drive growth and market share of retail credit cards.  Specifically, you will contribute to the broader Cards business objectives and results through leveraging the optimal use of marketing investments, product and offer constructs, and credit strategy and market insights. 

Additionally, as a people leader within Cards, you will be accountable for the leadership of the Manager, Credit Cards Partner Acquisition position to align our digital strategies with our loyalty partners and execute across all digital strategies.

What will you do?

  • Lead the development and execution of Cards digital acquisition across rbc.com, social channels and external banners

  • Effectively communicate and work with various stakeholders from departments across marketing, legal and compliance to execute mass digital acquisition strategies

  • Optimize the Acquisition framework and working model with external and internal partners to drive card acquisition

  • Support the ongoing management of our acquisition budgets and forecasts, digital proprietary channels and advise on optimizing profitability via strategic trade-offs.

  • Collaborate with internal partners on enhancing and improving the existing Digital client application experience

  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports

  • Ad Hoc duties/business casing and analysis.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience in/knowledge of credit card industry

  • Creative problem-solving skills with focus on efficient execution while balancing big-picture thinking

  • Analytical skills with a proven ability to take a data driven approach to make decisions and strategic recommendations

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of the company.

  • Strong skills in presentation and storytelling.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with external partners

  • Experience in/knowledge of credit card acquisition and optimization in digital channels

  • Digital Marketing
