Adecco is currently hiring a Project Director for a permanent opportunity with a leading employee-owned construction company. This role is ideal for a highly experienced construction leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has a proven track record delivering large-scale ICI commercial, institutional, and multi-residential projects.
In this position, you will oversee the full lifecycle delivery of multiple construction projects while leading and mentoring project teams, managing client relationships, and supporting business development initiatives. You will play a key role in driving project success through strategic leadership, financial oversight, risk management, and operational excellence.
Salary: $180K-$200K base, Profit Sharing, Employee Owned, Allowance, RRSP, Full Benefits
Location: Calgary, AB (site and office travel required)

Responsibilities
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and support staff across multiple projects
Foster a collaborative culture focused on communication, accountability, and continuous improvement
Determine and secure project resources required to meet project commitments and timelines
Guide project teams through bidding, budgeting, and pre-construction activities
Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle to ensure exceptional service and repeat business
Oversee Project Execution Plans, including budgets, schedules, staffing, milestones, deliverables, and risk management
Manage contract oversight, commercial strategies, and delivery models including Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management, Progressive Design-Build, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
Develop construction sequencing, site logistics, and methodologies to optimize safety, productivity, and scheduling
Drive project forecasting and financial reporting while ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
Champion safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives across project teams
Support business development activities, proposals, project interviews, and client presentations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and industry partners
Represent the organization externally and contribute to strategic corporate initiatives
Travel between project sites and offices as required
Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada
Minimum 15+ years of ICI commercial construction experience
Minimum 10+ years of direct construction project management experience
Proven success delivering ground-up commercial, institutional, and multi-residential construction projects
Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience
Strong understanding of provincial building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict-resolution skills
Strong financial forecasting and reporting experience
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Valid driver’s license required
Experience with collaborative delivery models such as IPD, Progressive Design-Build, and Design-Build is considered an asset
Gold Seal Certification (GSC) is considered an asset
Knowledge of LEED principles and sustainable construction practices is considered an asset
Familiarity with advanced scheduling, estimating, and project controls software beyond MS Project is considered an asset
