Adecco is currently hiring an Intermediate Power Systems Engineer (P.Eng) for a full-time opportunity in Calgary, AB. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who is looking for real responsibility, technical growth, diverse projects, and the opportunity to build a long-term career within a close-knit and collaborative engineering team.

In this position, you will work on a wide range of power systems projects across industries including power generation, oil & gas, commercial, pulp & paper, data centres, and complex brownfield repowering projects. You will play a key role in delivering technical studies, supporting field work, and contributing to both engineering design and project execution.

  • Salary: Up to $145,000 annually

  • Location: Calgary, AB

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system studies using ETAP and other industry-standard software such as SKM or EasyPower

  • Design and program relay setting files across multiple equipment manufacturers

  • Support and lead portions of switchgear design and brownfield repowering projects

  • Participate in field service activities and support on-site project execution when required

  • Prepare technical reports and communicate engineering findings to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams on project delivery

  • Provide technical analysis related to power system protection, grounding, and electrical distribution systems

  • Support project coordination, client communication, and engineering documentation

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in the field and during project execution

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

  • Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng) required or close to obtaining designation

  • Approximately 5–8 years of experience in power systems engineering, electrical protection, or related fields

  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis and electrical protection systems

  • Hands-on mindset with strong mechanical aptitude and field experience

  • Experience using ETAP for power system studies is required

  • Experience with SKM or EasyPower is considered an asset

  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Strong client-facing and relationship-building abilities

  • Ambitious, coachable, and motivated to grow into increased engineering responsibility
