What is the opportunity?
As Vice President, RMCA, you are responsible for leading a team of Relationship Managers, Commercial Accounts to deliver exceptional client experience, deepen existing relationship and drive sustainable growth. This role demands a strategic leader who excels at fostering accountability, implementing rigorous practice management routines, and ensuring proactive client engagement. Your focus will be on building a culture of excellence, where talent management and operational discipline converge to achieve RBC’s strategic priorities in British Columbia’s commercial banking sector.
What will you do?
- Lead and collaborate with client relationship managers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor loan transactions, including credit submissions to risk partners and transaction presentations to clients.
- Set the direction, priorities, and key activities for the business strategy, communicating them clearly to motivate team members to adopt best practices and established sales/client relationship activities.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and knowledge of commercial banking by regularly assessing local market business opportunities and focusing on key success factors that drive effective sales behaviors and positive business results. Adjust team capacity for full productivity and efficiency (implementation excellence).
- Support the team to demonstrate RBC’s capability to provide customized and creative credit solutions in a timely manner and deliver credit solutions that meet or exceed our client’s needs
- Coach team members to balance sales results, portfolio profitability, and strong client relationships, OneRBC partnership using proactive client relationship management skills to effectively negotiate pricing/fees within established guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with other VP, Commercial Banking in the region to position the team as hub for deepening relationships and to ensure seamless client transitions
What do you need to succeed?
Requirements
- Proven leader who inspires teams to excel through rigorous practice management, data-driven performance metrics, and disciplined processes.
- Demonstrated ability to deepen client relationships through proactive advice, strategic problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration (e.g., OneRBC partnerships)
- Strong experience/knowledge in Commercial Financial Services.
- Leadership experience in supporting and growing a high performance team in delivering best in class client experience
- Demonstrated skills in representation and developing centers of influence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (MBA is an asset).
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize competing demands and deliver under pressure.
