A part-time academic is required to teach HIST 3056.03 The Holocaust: The Destruction of the Jews of Europe in the Fall 2026 Term (1 September to 31 December, 2026).

The destruction of most of European Jewry by Nazism and its helpers during the Second World War is studied in the context of centuries-old religious antisemitism, nineteenth-century Jewish emancipation and the emergence of racist ideology, the political and social situation of Jews in eastern and western Europe after World War I, “legal” and bureaucratic persecution of German Jews culminating in mass killing at Auschwitz and other death camps, and the response of bystander nations to the perpetration of genocide.

The classes are currently scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 0835-0955.

The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading and administration of the classes. In addition, the part-time academic is to be available for two hours per week outside of class time for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the History Department.
