Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Track Maintainer / Truck Driver Foreperson to support railway infrastructure operations for our client. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for maintaining track components, supervising crews, and ensuring all railway fixtures meet operational and safety standards.
In this role you will lead field crews while actively participating in track inspection, repair, and maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable rail operations.

Responsibilities:
Track Maintenance & Operations

  • Inspect and maintain track structures and right-of-way to company standards
  • Repair and replace rails, ties, spikes, anchors, and ballast
  • Correct deviations in track surface, alignment, and gauge
  • Install and repair railroad crossings and track components
  • Assist with repair of power-operated switches and insulated joints
  • Support unloading and distribution of track materials and ballast
  • Clear vegetation, snow, and debris from the rail corridor
  • Maintain proper drainage systems and clean work areas upon completion
Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead and supervise crews to ensure safe, high-quality work execution
  • Inspect completed work and approve track for service
  • Enforce track standards, operating rules, and safety procedures
  • Implement safety directives and contribute to safety program development
  • Maintain train operating restrictions aligned with track conditions
Truck Driving & Logistics
  • Operate trucks to transport materials, equipment, and personnel
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues
  • Safely load, unload, and secure cargo according to standards
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and stakeholders
Reporting & Administration
  • Complete work reports, inspections, and material inventory documentation
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with company procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous foreperson or supervisory experience
  • Experience in similar industrial or outdoor work environments
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
  • Welding experience
  • Knowledge of railway signals or operating rules
  • Leads by example with a strong focus on safety and accountability
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence others
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to set direction and prioritize work
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a team environment
  • Commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
