The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This includes conceptualizing business needs, gathering and prioritizing requirements, ensuring specifications are actionable, and validating that deliverables satisfy client needs while working closely with technology, sales, and marketing. The Product Manager ensures that products support the TMX overall strategy and goals, obtains Senior Management approval for proposals, and builds the necessary relationships for productization and sales success.

TMX Datalinx falls under the Global Solutions, Insights & Analytics business line. Trading activity on TSX, TSXV, Alpha, and MX generates a stream of real-time data reflecting orders and executed transactions. This stream is supplemented with value-added content (e.g., dividends, earnings) and packaged into real-time market data products delivered to end users globally, either directly or via Canadian and global redistributors. Headquartered in Toronto, TMX Datalinx maintains sales offices in London, New York, Chicago, and Hong Kong.

The Product Management function is responsible for ideating, developing, and executing on product strategies that defend and grow revenue. This includes identifying global addressable markets, designing compelling pricing and packaging, and leading a seamless development process across stakeholders. 

This role reports to: Vice President, TMX Datalinx Proprietary Data & Infrastructure 

This role is hybrid (3-4 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities: 

The Product Manager is a central driver of the product lifecycle.

  • Market-Leading Product Launches: Lead cross-functional team to ideate, design, and launch impactful market data products.

  • Strategic Client Discovery: Lead deep-dive discovery sessions with institutional clients to translate complex data pain points into high-value product roadmaps.

  • Commercial Design & Strategy: Design product, pricing, packaging and tiering models that optimize revenue while simplifying the consumption experience for global redistributors and clients.

  • Governance & Regulatory Navigation: Participate in the regulatory lifecycle, including drafting business cases for regulatory filings and ensuring products adhere to evolving Canadian and US market structure mandates.

  • AI-Driven Workflow Optimization: Leverage Generative AI and advanced prompt engineering to enhance efficiency, including the automation of requirements gathering (PRDs), market sentiment analysis, and streamlining of internal decision-making processes.

Must Have(s):

The ideal candidate combines deep financial market expertise with modern technical agility:

  • Communication & Distillation: Exceptional ability to take complex technical or market concepts and distill them into clear, actionable insights for internal teams, management, clients, and global partners. 

  • TMX Data Feeds: Strong understanding of the market data ecosystem, including the technical delivery and commercial structure of real-time feeds from TSX, TSXV, Alpha, and MX. Must be able to manage the full lifecycle of data feed products, from global redistribution licensing to maintaining a broad awareness of comparable feed products and delivery models from peer global exchanges.

  • Emerging Financial Technologies: Familiarity with disruptive trends reshaping capital markets and data distribution, specifically Tokenized Real-World Assets (RWAs), Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols, Prediction Markets (Event Derivatives), and Agentic AI.

  • Advanced Generative AI Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in prompt engineering and the practical application of AI tools to accelerate product development and rapid data analysis.

  • Market Data Lifecycle: Proven ability to launch and scale products within the market data ecosystem, including a nuanced understanding of how buy-side and sell-side firms consume TMX market data.

  • North American Market Expertise: 5–10 years of professional experience, with a heavy preference for direct experience in Canadian and US Equity Financial Markets.

    - Alternative Expertise: Candidates with fewer years of institutional experience will be considered if they can demonstrate a proven, deep personal interest in financial markets. 

  • Requires a background in business, mathematics, or technology

Salary Range: 90,000/year -110,000/year CAD
