Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS), an innovator and leading provider of financial software, is seeking a senior software developer in the Vancouver Area. We are looking for an experienced senior software developer to join the NYFIX Matching development team within BTCS. NYFIX Matching is an innovative product that enables investment managers and brokers to complete their post-trade processing immediately after trade execution. It uses the FIX protocol to achieve real-time performance and is provided to clients as SaaS. This is a great opportunity to be part of a successful and growing team as a senior full stack developer. 

 

The team follow a hybrid work schedule with typically one or two days in the office each week.  Also the development team provides level 3 production support for the software that the team delivers, as such team members may infrequently be requested to participate in calls outside of normal business hours when the level 2 operations teams requests immediate assistance. 

 

Responsibilities 

Participate with other product stakeholders in roadmap discussions, requirements review, and Sprint meetings. Own design, development, and unit and integration testing of new product features.  Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues.  Develop tools used by Deployment, Onboarding and Support teams.  Provide third-level production support including occasionally outside regular business hours.  Research and implement technologies to scale the system as demands continue to grow.  Mentor junior team members. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 

  • 10+ years of Java programming experience 

  • BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience with Java based technologies: JEE, ActiveMQ, Spring, Hibernate

  • Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.

  • Extensive SQL experience

  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS

  • Working knowledge of Linux systems

  • Fluency in English

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Committed, self-motivated, and fast learner

  • Proactive, independent, and proven ability to work under pressure 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Experience in building web-based SaaS interfaces, using React or similar technologies

  • Experience with Agile Principles and methodologies

  • Experience in financial technology, including FIX protocol

  • Experience with document-oriented databases

  • Experience in handling large volumes of data to generate analytics

Compensation

Salary Range: CAD $120,000 – $150,000. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location
