Minimum Requirements:
3 years' heavy equipment operating experience (loader, grader, zoom boom, skid steer etc.) in a heavy industrial, mining, oil sands, or similar environment
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Power Engineering certification (any level), Water/Wastewater Treatment certification (any level), Journeyman certification, or relevant technical diploma
Responsibilities:
Monitor and operate centrifugal and vertical turbine pumps within the fine tailings system to maintain optimal performance
Support Accelerated Dewatering (ADW) operations and associated infrastructure
Operate and monitor barges, floating pump systems, and pipeline networks
Perform equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checks
Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets
Identify and report potential safety or environmental hazards.
Actively participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses
Communicate effectively with incoming shifts and supervisors to ensure operational continuity
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Fort Hills Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (12-hour shifts including night/day rotating shift work)
You will be on a Fly-In-Fly-Out Rotation from one of the approved hubs of Edmonton or Calgary or a Bus-In-Bus-Out of Fort McMurray
