As a DevOps Engineer in the Securities Lending team at National Bank, you’ll be responsible for development and maintenance of systems at National Bank Capital Group and its subsidiaries. The DevOps position requires a self- starting, problem solving, motivated individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast paced trading environment. This challenging role provides an opportunity to learn and apply business concepts with a technical foundation. 

Your role


  • Troubleshoot issues arising from the Securities Lending trading platform. 
  • Maintain and enhance development and production environments
  • Respect deadlines and communicate progress to the technology management team
  • Design, architect and integrate solutions with in-house applications, vendor supplied software and external platforms 
  • Analyse data and gather requirements for the purposes of defining business needs/functionality and developing flexible solutions.
  • Ensure system stability, resiliency, data retention and security while optimizing infrastructure costs

Your team:

You will be part of a team that provides application and business process development for Securities Lending. You will join an internal team of technical specialists who work primarily with the front office (traders) but also interact with the back office, other technology teams, and external vendors. Prerequisites


  • Possess solid analytical skills for complex problem solving 
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, Unix scripting and AWS technologies i.e. Pipelines, Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudTrail 
  • Must be comfortable navigating and working in a Unix/Linux environment 
  • Knowledge of design and analysis methodology, application development and release processes i.e. GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins & Groovy
  • Understanding of computer security, networking, and DevOps best practices
  • Have interest working within the dynamic environment of Capital Markets
