What is the Opportunity?
As part of the Chief Data Office, collaborating closely with CFO and GRM teams, the Associate Director is the first line of defense for data management risk and is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of data management practice components for Finance and Risk domains.
The ideal candidate will provide expertise and support to senior management in identification, documentation and maintenance of data risk management requirements, enhancing their ability to anticipate and manage data management risks effectively.
What will you do?
- Act as a centre of excellence and advocate for data management best practices for Finance and Risk domains
- Contribute to and support communication of data strategies, standards and initiatives to Finance and Risk partners
- Facilitate building and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of data management practice components for each Finance and Risk domains
- Document and analyze data management risk challenges against domain strategy
- Prioritize business needs in managing data risks to support funding and business case development
- Prepare and present data management risk analysis to stakeholders in Finance, Risk, CLAO, T&O, etc., in collaboration with Director and Senior Director
- Guide CFO and GRM stakeholders in building execution plans and roadmaps for data risk management enablement for each Finance and Risk domains, e.g., addressing gaps, supporting 2LOD reviews, planning and achieving domain deliverables, etc.
- Partner with CDO shared services to solidify options and provide quality/ timely execution services to Finance and Risk domains
- Identify and prioritize data management service needs across Finance and Risk domains to facilitate the prioritization and provision by shared service provider(s)
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills to influence successful outcomes
- Experience in Finance or Risk with understanding of key processes and data
- Skills in data strategy, data management, and initiative risk assessment
Nice-to-Have:
- Data analytics and reporting skills
- Effective time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills to meet tight timelines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with regulators, regulatory examinations, and program execution
