Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As a trusted strategic advisor, you proactively provide advice and enable clients to leverage RBC PayEdge solution, taking responsibility for clients’ onboarding, activation, and ongoing adoption of digital solutions. You develop and deliver on business priorities and improve the client experience through execution of sales plans to acquire new clients proactively, and recommend appropriate treasury services to existing clients. You also provide focused financial advice and solutions to meet the clients’ business and financial goals, while partnering with the Business Markets team, Branch Network and other colleagues across Royal Bank of Canada to drive client loyalty and build long-term profitable client relationships.

What will you do?

  • Lead with a growth mindset, focusing on what’s possible to maximize client acquisition, growth and an exceptional client experience
  • Act as the single point of contact throughout the RBC PayEdge end-to-end onboarding process, partner with the relationship team and branch network, and follow up with clients to ensure an exceptional client experience
  • Demonstrate digital IQ by building awareness and encouraging clients to fully leverage digital solutions on an ongoing basis to optimize their business’s operations
  • Deliver financial and business “Insight” advice through a differentiated value proposition by presenting solutions that clearly articulate the benefits and advantages to the client; help the client to understand alternatives, navigate and implement proposed solutions; and identify opportunities and refer clients to RBC Partners to meet the client’s broader advice needs
  • Educate the client with new or emerging issues that will impact their business by providing the client with unique, valuable insights on the client’s industry, business or market
  • Plan and prioritize client and market activities to win as One RBC, seeking referral opportunities for the relationship team, Transaction Banking partners and other RBC partners
  • Gather insights through client discovery to identify a broad range of solutions to further anchor clients to RBC and increase share of wallet
  • Partner with the Relationship Managers (RM) and Branch Network who support our team managed clients to develop a coordinated client contact strategy, ensuring future client needs are identified and met
  • Attend client advice events and industry conferences to build relationships and attract new business to RBC.
  • Work on RBC PayEdge leads located in Salesforce and Client360 to proactively connect with existing clients to conduct discovery conversations, provide tailored advice, and make appropriate recommendations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have  

  • Proven experience in the financial services industry at a minimum of 5 years, specifically with a proven cash management or payments background
  • Strong client focus, highly organized, and strong ability to incorporate business development mindset into day-to-day activities and routines; possess solid business acumen
  • Experience with commercial markets clients, and deep industry specialization
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills while building partnerships with stakeholders and fostering teamwork
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; notably a story telling ability to illustrate the impact of the recommended solutions on the client’s business relationships
  • Embrace change with the ability to pivot and be agile
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a strong business development mindset to grow and develop your business opportunities, and proactively identify opportunities to make partner referrals
  • Bilingual in English & French

Nice-to-have  

  • Attained the CTP - Certified Treasury Professional designation
  • Have worked at a financial institution for a minimum of 10 years
