Career Opportunity

Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Business and Performance Analyst to join our Light Rail Transit Operations Team!

What You Will Do?

Reporting to the Manager, Business & Performance, you will be responsible to support the Business and Performance team within LRT Operations by serving as the primary contact within the department for written communications. Ensuring internal and external reporting follows documented processes and practices as part of the Quality Management System.  In addition, develop policies and standard operating procedures to enable the smooth integration of the new LRT mode within the TTC, which will consist of process mapping, documenting and validating current business processes and business requirements.
 
This involves the following:
 
•    Compose, finalize, and monitor all external correspondence between Metrolinx and TTC, including commercial letters and briefing materials.
•    Prepare and present progress reports and updates on LRT-related issues to senior management, including department heads and executives.
•    Liaise with department heads to ensure contractual changes are accurately reflected in TTC’s standard operating procedures and departmental plans.
•    Establish formal documentation methods to safeguard data integrity, records management, and institutional knowledge.
•    Assist Operations Coordinators with the technical writing of departmental plans (e.g., Resource Management Plan, Operator Communication Plan, Fare Revenue Protection Plan) as contractually required by Metrolinx.
•    Document business processes and develop procedures across TTC business units, including quality management, contract administration, and variation analysis.
•    Create process flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies for new and existing operational and administrative processes in collaboration with stakeholders and support their implementation.
•    Lead or support QMS activities such as document control, change management, non-conformance resolution, and corrective actions.
•    Design report templates and collaborate with system owners to enable access to system data for TTC reporting needs.
•    Apply advanced statistical models and algorithms for trend analysis, root cause identification, and corrective action planning. Interpret results using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
•    Prepare progress reports, KPIs, presentations, and analytical summaries for senior management using integrated data analysis.
•    Analyze program data to identify areas for improvement, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of efficiency initiatives.
•    Liaise with the Metrolinx Project Scheduler to validate TTC milestones and update internal schedules accordingly.
•    Develop process maps for all operational and functional areas within LRT Operations.
•    Maintain and update RACI matrices, ensuring stakeholder accountability.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

•    Completion of a university degree in a related discipline such as Business Administration, Journalism, Communications, or Engineering. A combination of education, training, and experience is deemed equivalent will also be considered.
•    Practical experience utilizing Power BI systems or other data visualization and reporting systems
•    Demonstrated experience with, or the ability to quickly interpret, complex contractual documents such as Operating & Maintenance Agreements and Project Agreements.
•    Proven experience in documentation and process design techniques.
•    Familiarity with process improvement and project management methodologies.
•    Advanced working knowledge of personal computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio.
•    Strong track record in planning and conducting research and reviews.
•    Experience preparing assessment reports, business proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.
•    Ability to work collaboratively on the development and implementation of large, complex operational concepts.
