Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Senior Crown Royalty Analyst to join the Operations Controllers team in Calgary, AB. This temporary contract position supports the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Royalty Accounting functions.

In this role you will collaborate with finance, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure accurate cost application, royalty calculation, reporting, and overall administration of EOR Royalty Projects. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, apply strong analytical and creative thinking skills, and develop subject‑matter expertise in EOR Royalty frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit annual estimate Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) filings to the Saskatchewan Government.

  • Interpret financial results and conduct variance analysis for multiple levels of management during monthly, quarterly, and annual GL cycles.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to calculate annual EOR rates for forecast, budget, and long‑range planning, and record associated YTD true‑up accruals in SAP.

  • Work closely with the Audit team and provide support during Saskatchewan Crown audits.

  • Coordinate with Crown Royalty Analysts, Capital Accounting, and Operations Accounting to ensure accurate EOR expense reporting.

  • Assist in the calculation of monthly royalty accruals.

  • Interpret Crown Royalty policy and ensure timely, accurate system configuration for royalty obligation calculations.

  • Provide internal stakeholders with guidance and updates related to royalty regulations and requirements.

  • Support ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance; a professional accounting designation is considered an asset.

  • Minimum 9 years of oil and gas accounting experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP, including Group Reporting, Power BI, Spotfire, and BW.

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and creative problem‑solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting processes: A/P, A/R, revenue, royalties, accruals, and variance analysis.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.

  • Highly detail‑oriented and self‑motivated.

  • Deep understanding of oil and gas accounting, including operating, capital, and production accounting.

  • Working knowledge of SAGD operations and Saskatchewan Enhanced Oil Recovery Royalty regulations

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
