The incumbent is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and support to the team to ensure all control activities and critical tasks are completed accordingly and in a timely manner. This role includes analysis and review of several complex activities from different multiple internal teams for various products across multiple systems.Responsibilities
- Perform various control activities related to Reporting large cash transactions, including the analysis of complex transactions involving various products.
- Liaise with branches, to investigate any anomalies in customer files and request branches to make necessary corrections.
- Submit transaction reports to FINTRAC for Reporting large cash transactions.
- Works with management to monitor and manage various department mailboxes to ensure that all evidence is available for reporting large cash transactions.
- Monitors escalated issues and provides progress report to impacted stakeholders or management.
- Works with management to address any process or control gaps and makes recommendations on any opportunities for efficiencies.
- Assists in various daily and monthly reporting as required.
- Provides support on internal and external audits.
- Maintains good working relationships with internal and external clients to better achieve the department's objectives.
- Completes daily workload within strict timeframes and works with direct manager to address any issues or concerns.
- Participates in department meetings and contributes to the planning process of achieving departmental and personal goals, as well as communicates any problems or concerns.
- Keeps abreast of legislation, policies, and procedures, which relate to products and services, particularly those related to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.
- Participates in special projects and carries out any other similar or general task at the request of their manager or that may be required by their function.
Qualifications
- University Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience in a similar environment; or, College Diploma and 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar environment.
- Bilingual* (English/French).
- Solid knowledge of banking, deposits, VISA, Mortgage, Loans, Securities, and other lending or investment products.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with multiple partners across the Bank.
- Able to work in a high volume environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Highly motivated with a desire to succeed and progress.
- Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook
- Familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems; ability to learn inquiry functions in back office processing systems such as SIBL, T24 and CPS are assets.
- Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including teamwork, adaptability, customer service, innovation, and detail orientation.
*Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages
