About the Scholarship

The Bank of Canada is offering $8,000 scholarships to assist students with disabilities, Indigenous, LGBTQ2S+, Francophone and those who identify as a member of a visible minority group or racialized group to help remove barriers to education and support greater diversity in our workforce.

 

In addition to financial support, selected recipients may be offered a work placement at the Bank, along with mentorship from a Bank employee—an opportunity to gain meaningful, real-world experience early in your career.  

 

Eligibility

To be considered, you must:

  • be pursuing post-secondary studies at the University level (undergraduate) or College in a field related to the Bank’s work, including:
    • Economics and Finance: economics, mathematics or statistics, commerce or business administration with a finance major
    • Administration and Operations: financial services, administration and business, project management, human resources, accounting, communications and web development, internal audit, currency production, knowledge and information management, security
    • Information Technology and Cyber Security: software development, computer science, network engineering, solution architecture, project management, business analysis, cyber security
  • be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
  • be enrolled in a post-secondary institution for fall 2026
  • have a minimum overall average of 70%

 

How to submit your application

Instead of a traditional cover letter, we ask you to share your story by answering the following questions:

  1. Tell us about yourself, your family, and/or your community
  2. Why have you decided to pursue a Post-Secondary education in your field of study?
  3. What are some of your past challenges and successes that you will be building from in the future?
  4. What are your plans for when you graduate and how could a work placement help you on your way?

 

Please upload all required documents at the time of application:

  • Your current resume
  • Your academic transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Your responses to the four questions above
