Adecco, in partnership with our client, is currently hiring a full-time skilled and reliable DZ Driver to join their transportation team in Trenton, ON. You will operate straight trucks, vans, and pickup trucks to deliver goods safely and efficiently. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a safety‑first mindset. You will be responsible for vehicle inspections, documentation, loading/unloading, and maintaining high service standards while representing the company professionally.

  • Pay Rate: $24.00/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Ottawa, ON

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

  • Schedule: 25-40h/week

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Operation & Safety

  • Operate straight trucks (4,600 kg+ / 10,000 lbs+ with 3+ axles), vans, and pickup trucks.

  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.

  • Follow assigned routes and schedules for local deliveries.

  • Plan travel routes and communicate with the central dispatcher as needed.

  • Oversee vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and related equipment.

  • Monitor mechanical fitness and report issues promptly.

  • Use communication equipment such as cell phones, GPS/satellite tracking, and ELD systems.

Loading & Delivery

  • Safely load and unload furniture or other transported materials.

  • Provide professional customer service during deliveries and pickups.

  • Handle goods carefully to avoid damage and maintain customer satisfaction.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records including ELD logs, logbooks, and bills of lading.

  • Ensure compliance with all transportation, safety, and company regulations.

  • Uphold a safety‑first mindset in all daily operations.

Teamwork & Problem Solving

  • Collaborate with dispatch and the operations team to support smooth logistics.

  • Respond effectively to unexpected issues (route changes, mechanical concerns, customer needs).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (completed).

  • Valid DZ / Class 3 or D license.

  • Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR.

  • 3+ years of commercial driving experience.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 45 lbs.

  • CPIC check required (additional checks may apply per project).

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Excellent communication (written & verbal).

  • Ability to use ELD, GPS, and mobile communication tools.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and adaptability.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
