Adecco is currently hiring a Mobile Heavy Equipment Technician for a full-time opportunity based in Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for a skilled diesel mechanic with strong diagnostic abilities and experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment in a fast-paced field service environment.
As a Mobile Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics on a wide range of fleet and construction equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a service team to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime.
Pay Rate: $51.90/hour
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Full-time (4-day work week, on-call rotation, overtime available)
Contract: Temp or Temp-to-Perm potential

Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steers, and delivery vehicles
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and emissions-related issues using diagnostic software, manuals, and schematics
Troubleshoot and repair diesel systems with a high standard of quality and consistency
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment status documentation
Source and order parts as required for repairs and maintenance
Communicate effectively with service teams and customers regarding repair needs and downtime
Operate independently from a service truck when required
Continuously improve repair processes, turnaround times, and service quality
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following all safety protocols
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy equipment
Strong proficiency in electrical and emissions diagnostics
Experience using diagnostic software and technical service manuals
Ability to work independently and manage a mobile service truck effectively
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical repair solutions
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Must own basic tools required for the job
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (required)
Class 3 licence with air brakes considered an asset
Clean driving record required
Ability to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
Comfortable working in all weather conditions and outdoor environments
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada
