Agile Underwriting Solutions (Agile) has an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Regional Vice President, Ontario. This is a remote position, open to candidates in the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking an experienced Commercial underwriting leader with a proven track record of driving growth, leading high-performing teams, and delivering strong business results.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $116,000 to $145,000. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.

The opportunity:

Lead the performance and direction of a high-impact underwriting portfolio as Regional Vice President, Ontario. In this role, you'll shape regional strategy, elevate underwriting excellence, and drive disciplined, profitable growth - while building high-performing teams and trusted partner relationships.

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership to underwriting teams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strong portfolio performance
  • Oversee regional underwriting results, including rate adequacy, loss ratios, retention, growth, and product mix
  • Ensure consistent execution of underwriting guidelines, authorities, best practices, and regulatory/internal compliance standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead regional business planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and represent the region in corporate strategy and governance forums
  • Monitor key metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve targets
  • Collaborate with Claims, Product, Operations, Distribution, and Finance to drive alignment and execution
  • Drive continuous improvement and talent development through process enhancements, coaching, performance management, and succession planning


Here's what you bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive Property & Casualty underwriting experience, including leadership of teams or multiple business units
  • Strong expertise in underwriting authorities, risk selection, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management
  • Proven ability to lead teams through high-growth, evolving environments, driving transformation while delivering strong underwriting results and profitable growth
  • Experience managing audits and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, including forecasting and performance management
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills
  • CIP or FCIP designation strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
