Overview

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in driving the success of PepsiCo's operations by overseeing plant-level maintenance, facilities management, and capital project execution. This role is responsible for ensuring that all building systems and production equipment are maintained in optimal working condition to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. The Engineering Manager leads and develops the Maintenance and Facilities teams, to implement a proactive maintenance strategy focused on preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance, all within budget constraints. In addition, this role manages the planning and execution of capital projects.

Total Compensation: $97,200 - $184,400


Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets relating to labour, spare parts, consumables, equipment overhauls, and capital initiatives to support operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to analyze data, set priorities, and align maintenance strategies with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Ensure the reliability and upkeep of all production equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Implement and oversee a proactive preventive maintenance program that improves equipment performance and minimizes downtime within budget targets.
  • Establish and maintain maintenance control systems, including work orders, schedules, equipment documentation, and standard procedures.
  • Partner with production teams to identify and address equipment and maintenance needs that support operational continuity and efficiency.
  • Lead the development and execution of the facility’s capital investment plan, including project evaluation, approval, and management of installations.
  • Ensure continuous operation of critical support systems (e.g., compressed air, water, boilers, co-gen, HVAC) to meet production requirements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring that safe conditions are maintained across all facilities and hazards are addressed promptly.
  • Develop and lead high-performing teams through coaching, performance management, skill development, and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods industry
  • Proven experience in plant maintenance or engineering, with a solid understanding of equipment reliability and operational support
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with skilled trades personnel to drive performance and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities
