A career as a Senior Advisor, Scenario Analysis, Operational and Non-Financial Risk within the Integrated Risk Management team at National Bank means acting as the functional owner of the non-financial risk scenario analysis process. This role allows you to play a key part in strengthening the resilience and governance of non-financial risks, beyond the execution of exercises. Leveraging your expertise in operational risk management, scenario analysis, and project coordination, you lead the exercises end to end and work closely with Risk teams and business lines to actively contribute to the evolution and maturity of scenario analysis practices.

Your role:

  • Influence and support stakeholders to enhance the quality, credibility, and severity of scenarios
  • Ensure that the robustness of controls, capabilities, and response plans is tested
  • Provide governance bodies and executive committees with value-added analyses that go beyond compliance requirements
  • Contribute to discussions with oversight and audit functions in support of compliance demonstrations
  • Manage processes involving more than 30 stakeholders (multi‑month timelines, ensuring that everyone understands their role in the production chain and meets deadlines)
  • Conduct external benchmarking to identify practices used by other banks and international markets

Your team:
Within the Integrated Risk Management sector, you are part of a multidisciplinary team reporting to the Senior Director, Crisis Simulation and Non-Financial Risk Analytics. Our team stands out for its expertise in crisis simulation and scenario analysis, its strong knowledge of risk management, its close collaboration with other sectors across the Bank, and its central role in integrating analytics into integrated risk management processes.

Development opportunities
We promote a variety of continuous learning approaches to support your development, including learning by doing, specialized training content, and mentoring by colleagues with diverse expertise. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on cross-functional projects, participate in governance committees, and contribute to the evolution of the Bank’s analytical practices.

Training on analytical tools and risk modeling techniques is offered, along with workshops on regulatory frameworks and best practices in non-financial risk management.

Requirements:
  • University degree and seven years of relevant experience
  • Experience in operational risk management and project management
  • Cross-functional knowledge of the Bank and the regulatory environment (OSFI guidelines)
  • Excellent ability to manage priorities and work on multiple complex files simultaneously
  • Ability to challenge scenarios that are insufficiently severe or credible
