Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Controller to join our client’s team and lead the financial and operational accounting functions of a growing organization. This role is a key strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, driving financial excellence, operational efficiency, and robust governance across the business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in decision-making, systems optimization, and team leadership.

  • Pay Rate: $ 130K - $160k/year.

  • Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead and oversee all financial and operational accounting functions, including general accounting, treasury, and taxation

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, supporting key decisions and transactions

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and efficiency initiatives across finance operations

  • Design, implement, and enhance financial and operational controls, governance frameworks, and best practices

  • Provide strong leadership to the finance team, including coaching, performance management, and succession planning

  • Manage organizational risk by overseeing internal controls related to financial reporting and compliance requirements

  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness

  • Optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including system integrations, workflow automation, and reporting capabilities

  • Leverage data analytics and reporting tools to deliver actionable insights that support business performance

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, auditors, and advisors

  • Support scalable financial infrastructure to enable organizational growth and operational excellence

Requirements:  

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • CPA, CA required; MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • 8–15 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including people leadership

  • Strong experience supporting executive leadership and strategic decision-making

  • Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and accounting best practices

  • Proven experience optimizing ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)

  • Strong systems, analytics, and process automation mindset; Power BI experience an asset

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and improve operational efficiency
