The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Superintendent II, Process to join the Mechanical Maintenance team at the Copper Cliff Nickel Refinery based in Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a permanent on-site position, working Monday to Friday - dayshifts. This posting is for an existing position vacancy.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Process Superintendent (II) oversees process stability by identifying and reducing variation across technical, social, and commercial systems, working closely with Managers and Supervisors to correct root causes. The role collaborates across operational areas to address supplier and customer system gaps and support capital, operating, and maintenance project objectives. It also ensures that all direct reports and assigned areas comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and established agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and analyze systems and performance trends to improve safety, production, quality, cost, and resource use while driving continuous improvement.
- Lead and reinforce Safe Production behaviors, coach team members, and take corrective action on noncompliance.
- Verify compliance with SLAs, standards, and training requirements, and collaborate with HSE to strengthen safety, health, and environmental outcomes.
- Develop annual and multi‑year capital and execution plans, set area goals, and create weekly/monthly production or maintenance plans with forecast updates.
- Monitor production, maintenance, and asset integrity, contribute to asset‑risk reviews, and coordinate work management, planned outages, and schedule changes.
- Identify and correct common‑cause process variation, expand area capability, and ensure qualifications, staffing schedules, and performance management are maintained.
- Lead grievance meetings, support succession planning, and guide implementation of new systems and processes through auditing, mentoring, and analysis.
- Manage off‑shift plant activities as required and perform additional duties to support operational performance.

About You
Education:
- Post-secondary education in trades, engineering, or smelting/refining related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of supervisory and smelting/refining and/ or industrial experience is required.
- Preferred business and process knowledge of industrial maintenance, smelting/refining execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP is preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
- Must have a proven track record for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance systems, processes, and best practices, with a proven track record that reflects maintenance excellence and leadership.

Pay Grade: 15V
Minimum Starting Salary: $110,400.00
