Purpose 

Contributes to the overall success of the Innovation team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 
 

Accountabilities  
•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Build software following given requirements, working closing with development team.
•    Work closely with Product Owner and other SMEs to interpret requirements and translate them to software solutions for multiple projects.
•    With strong creativity and skill, create intuitive UIs which make it easy for users to navigate applications.
•    Support team to design & develop proof of concepts to show value. 
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.   
•    Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

 

Education / Experience 
•    1+ years working with React, Node.js and Python.
•    1+ years working with fluency on Linux environment with command line and shell scripting.
•    1+ years working with SQL. 
•    1+ years working with version control software such as Git
•    Working knowledge of MongoDB.
•    Have broad and deep technical knowledge, ranging from front-end UIs through to back-end systems. 
•    Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills. 
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•    Self-directed - works effectively both independently and in a team environment. 
•    Strong technical knowledge & experience in development
