Adecco, in partnership with our client, is currently hiring a full-time highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager/310T Licensed Mechanic to oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance and shop operations for our client in Hamilton, ON . This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all fleet vehicles while leading day‑to‑day maintenance activities.

  • Pay Rate: $40.00 - $45.00/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Hamilton, ON

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday| 7:00am – 4:30pm (overtime/weekends may be required)

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee routine and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles in alignment with established schedules and safety standards.

  • Plan, schedule, and track all maintenance activities; maintain accurate service records for each vehicle to ensure optimal mechanical performance and compliance.

  • Assess and prioritize repairs based on driver reports and daily maintenance logs, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

  • Supervise shop operations, coordinating workflow within the repair bay to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and surrounding areas.

  • Liaise with vehicle manufacturers to ensure all specifications and requirements meet operational standards.

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of spray systems and vehicle accessories, continuously enhancing technical proficiency.

  • Manage inventory and procurement, including sourcing parts, tracking purchase orders, arranging deliveries, and monitoring pricing benchmarks.

  • Collaborate with Dispatch and Customer Service teams to align maintenance schedules with delivery commitments, minimizing service disruptions.

  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including suppliers, MTO representatives, and manufacturers, addressing warranty and product support issues.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support overall fleet operations.

Qualifications:

  • 310T Licensed Mechanic (mandatory).

  • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License (AZ license considered an asset).

  • Fleet and Shop Manager certification (asset).

  • Lift Truck Operator Training (asset).

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in truck and trailer maintenance, including:

  • Chassis and suspension systems

  • Diesel engine service and overhauls

  • Driveline and transmission systems

  • Air brake and hydraulic systems

  • Electrical diagnostics and repair

  • Wet Vac/Power vac truck systems maintenance, diagnostic and repair

  • Emissions systems

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
