Total Compensation: $68,900 - $112,160


Responsibilities

  • Apply sound engineering principles to all assigned projects.
  • Manage all projects using Early Management principles.
  • Where necessary, create scope of work documents for preliminary projects to determine project design, project feasibility, and project specification. Prepare capital appropriation requests (CARs) for review and approval on assigned projects.
  • Prepare and maintain updated cost and lead-time estimates for assigned projects and cost studies.
  • Obtain and adopt all requirements associated with assigned projects including but not limit to building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, safety, OSHA, and all governmental regulations.
  • Specify, bid, and purchase necessary services and equipment to complete assigned projects with minimal interruption to production. Maintain and upkeep project purchases by managing purchase orders, invoices, and cost tracking documents as per audit standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate installation by contractors, plant labor, and support services to provide efficient and timely completion of assigned projects. Oversee preparation of all necessary drawings following installation and distribute where applicable.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training to maintenance and operators on all new equipment installed on assigned project.
  • Complete cost studies and cost estimates for yearly projects.
  • Complete full project closures on all assigned projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to peers, contractors, and maintenance teams as required.
  • Apply predictive technology, root cause analysis, and other tools and new technology where applicable to assigned projects.
  • Be innovative in identifying ways to decrease utility and maintenance costs.  Lead cost savings  initiatives.
  • Maintain all required documentation for corporate and governmental regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are involved, and a team approach is used in managing all projects and problem-solving activities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience and utilizing the following skills:
  • Capital project planning and engineering.
  • Experiences with batching and transfer systems are assets.
  • Experiences with high-speed packaging machinery.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (FMEA, Six-Sigma, TPM, etc).
  • Demonstrated project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead and coach trades people and groups of individuals with various levels of education and experience.
  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude required.
  • Demonstrated ability to long range plan and execution of the plan.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills and experience in managing people.
