We are looking for an experienced Global Mobility specialist who is ready to venture outside the ordinary. This is a new position that will support international talent movement aligned to our global growth objectives.You won't just be moving people; you’ll be building the infrastructure that allows our company to scale globally and develop our talent.
Reporting to the Head, Total Rewards, you will design and execute seamless relocation experiences for new hires and internal transfers, ensuring compliance across tax, immigration, total rewards and payroll while supporting our broader global expansion strategy. The ideal candidate for this role has previous experience within a global mobility function, including the design of global mobility frameworks, policies and practices. You will demonstrate a best in class service orientation, ensuring that business leaders and transferees are well supported prior to, during, and after relocations.
This role reports to: Head of Total Rewards
This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities:
Program Design & Development: Develop and refine mobility policies, frameworks and policies (e.g., Long-Term Assignments, Short-Term Assignments, Work from Aboard, localization of employees and management of Employer of Record vendors) to remain competitive and cost-efficient.
Relocation Assessment: Act as the primary point of contact for business leaders and other stakeholders on the feasibility, costs, and timelines of international hires or transfers. Analyze all relevant information and advise on the best approach to reflect the specific business or employee circumstances and develop realistic transfer plans.
Relocation Management: Act as the primary point of contact for employees throughout the lifecycle of their assignment or relocation—from initial cost projection to repatriation or localization.Collaborate with Talent Management and HR Business Partners on repatriation planning, ensuring that the skills gained during international assignments are strategically integrated back into the organization to maximize ROI.
Vendor Management: Manage and evaluate external partners, including immigration counsel, tax consultants, EORs, and relocation management companies (RMCs), ensuring high service levels and cost-effectiveness.
Compliance & Risk: Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure all moves comply with local labor laws, permanent establishment risks, and right-to-work requirements.
Tax & Payroll Coordination: Coordinate with the Global Payroll team to manage shadow payroll, tax equalization, and year-end reporting requirements.
Total Rewards: work with compensation and benefit partners to design total rewards arrangements for international assignments.
Data & Reporting: Track mobility metrics, costs, and compliance status. Present reports and analytics to leadership on program effectiveness including but not limited to cost benefit analysis.
Support broader Total Rewards initiatives and perform other duties or special assignments as assigned to meet departmental goals.
Must Have(s):
5 - 7+ years in Global Mobility, International HR, or Tax/Immigration consulting
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, International Relations, or a related field
Deep understanding of U.S. and international visa types (e.g., H-1B, L-1, Blue Card) as well as UK and Canada. With basic global tax principles
High empathy for the "relocation stress" employees face, combined with rigorous attention to detail
Experience managing complex global assignments and relocations
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
Nice to Have(s):
Experience in a fast-paced tech or high-growth startup environment
Professional certification (e.g., GMS®, CRP®, or PHR)
Experience or knowledge with mobility tech platforms to support the program (e.g., Topia, Equus, or Deel)
Salary Range: 90,000/year - 115,000/year CAD
