Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Estimator - Project Controls with a strong background in Mine, Tailings, and Water projects. This role requires deep knowledge of heavy civil construction and will be comfortable working on projects related to oil sands, pipelines, and heavy oil operations. This role supports the full estimating lifecycle, from early-stage benchmarking to detailed estimate development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a wide range of estimates for all D&MP project stages.

  • Analyze and compare project components and metrics against internal and external benchmarks.

  • Support the end‑to‑end estimating process, including preparation of estimate plans, estimate basis documentation, and presentation materials.

  • Build benchmarking bundles for various D&MP stages to support transparent comparison and evaluation.

  • Collaborate with project teams to gather required engineering and project control inputs.

  • Complete all mandatory training associated with the position.

  • Travel occasionally to site locations (day or overnight trips) as required.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 5–12 years of experience in Project Estimating or Project Controls.

  • Strong understanding of engineering terminology, scope definition, and project deliverables.

  • Proficiency working within EDMS platforms and database systems.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical capabilities.

  • Experience with owner/operator or EPC organizations in oil sands, midstream, or energy-related projects.

  • Familiarity with AspenTech (K‑Base) estimating software.

  • Previous estimating experience on pipeline projects.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support timely estimating deliverables.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compare estimates to internal and external benchmarks.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with clear and professional communication (both written and verbal).

  • High proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and working knowledge of Power BI.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
