Position Overview The Project Coordinator, Energy will be integral to a new project focused on 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion in the energy sector from December 2024 - March 2027. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the program which will include research on the energy sector around 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, the development of tailored resources, and providing training and consultation to energy sector employers. Reporting to the Manager of Programs, the Project Coordinator, Energy will need to conduct research with a Gender-Based Analysis+ framework to develop a best practices guide for the sector, a training module specific to the sector based on best practices, and provide direct consultation for employers in the sector. This project will be done with the support of Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC). Responsibilities Research and Best Practices Guide- Conduct research with industry stakeholders
- Create an industry best practices guide
- Organize a launch event for the best practices guide
- Develop a unique industry-specific training module
- Conduct ongoing trainings for organizations in partnership with EHRC and/or Pride at Work Canada in the energy sector both virtually and in person
- Provide tailored consulting based on the best practices researched with energy sector partners.
- Familiarity with STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) industries.
- Demonstrated experience with project or program coordination.
- Demonstrated experience with presentation and facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience conducting research.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of respect, compassion, and accountability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A degree or diploma in inclusion and diversity, community development, business administration, project management, and/or professional experience equivalent to formal education.
- Technologically savvy, must be comfortable with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Slides) and in the use of video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Meet, etc.). Ability to adapt and learn new software.
- Ability to travel within Canada and deliver in-person training and consultation.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate in English.
- Experience working in the Energy or Electricity sector, including a technical background.
- Demonstrated fluency in French, ASL and/or QSL.
- Experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, especially Two-Spirit, queer, and trans communities of the global majority.
- Experience with anti-racism, decolonization, intersectionality, and/or accessibility.
- A strong understanding of diversity, inclusion, equity and human rights issues.
