Community Capacity Building Initiative
Mission
Our mission is to provide professional tax and accounting services through our social finance clinic while developing collaborative programming that prioritizes economic well-being for underrepresented 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Through financial and fiscal education, we strive to foster long-term financial stability, inclusion, capacity building, and resilience within our communities. Our long-term vision is to build holistic, sustainable, intersectional 2SLGBTQ+ economic ecosystems that foster community mutual aid, empower entrepreneurs, and create equitable job markets.About CCBI
The Community Capacity Building Initiative (CCBI) is a nonprofit finance clinic that brings together over 50 years of combined experience in financial services, nonprofit support, and program development - particularly within 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Founded in January 2024 in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, Quebec, and led by the communities we serve, we equip individuals and organizations with the financial knowledge and skills needed to build long-term economic stability through our accessible services and community led programming. Our programs enhance financial literacy, strengthen economic resilience, and expand access to essential financial services within grassroots 2SLGBTQ+ networks. We prioritize working with community-led initiatives and fostering cross-sector collaborations to promote mutual skill-building and knowledge exchange. By advancing economic well-being within underrepresented 2SLGBTQ+ communities, we strive to create lasting financial empowerment and inclusion.Services & Programs
