Presenter:
Celeste Trianon: a name that resonates with power and commitment. As a jurist and transfeminine activist, she works on unceded land traditionally in the custody of the Kanien’kehá:ka. Her work is centered notably on tackling the administrative and juridical barriers trans people consistently face in day-to-day life, all while facilitating trans joy and the celebration of queerness in its various forms.
At just 19 years of age, Céleste Trianon has made a name for herself as a protest leader. A law student at the Université de Montréal, she embodies the force of change as coordinator of the Quebec Trans ID Clinic. She’s not afraid of confrontation, as evidenced by her key role in organizing protests against Bill 2 in Quebec to fight for the recognition and rights of trans people. She also created the Legal Transition Knowledge Base, a resource developed to explain the legal transition process in the province of Quebec, as well as in Canada, for trans people navigating the twists and turns of the legal transition process in the province of Quebec. Since August 2022, she has organized the Trans March for Our Liberation during Pride.
Céleste Trianon embodies unwavering determination and deep commitment to trans rights. She shines, she inspires, and she leads the way to a more inclusive and brighter future for all.
