Job Summary
We are transforming Banner, our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Student Information System, to benefit from the latest offerings of its full baseline functionality within a managed cloud environment - eliminating our legacy risk, and building a strong foundation to support the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, monitor and deliver programs and projects of large size and/or complexity* according to strict quality, time, and financial parameters. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Working closely with a project’s Executive Sponsor, the Senior Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and continuously monitor the project throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure objectives are met.
*Project complexity is positively correlated with scope uncertainty, number of stakeholders, interdependence between stakeholders, reliance on outside parties/vendors, novelty of technologies being implemented, number of activities, and multidisciplinary efforts. Typically, projects of higher complexity entail greater levels of risk and ambiguity that could hinder successful outcomes for less experienced Project Managers.
What you’ll be doing:

- Define realistic project goals and objectives with Project Managers, Business Analysts, workstream leads, delivery partners, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare cost and resource estimates and develop detailed project plans for all phases of the project.

- Provide leadership by building and motivating project teams to meet their project goals; the Senior Project Manager is expected to maintain regular (i.e., daily) contact with key project team members (may vary according to project phase and activities).
- Working with the Director and key delivery partners, help build and train project teams to expand their capabilities by establishing best practices, policies, methodologies, quality assurance and control, tools, and templates.
- Identify professional development and process improvement opportunities on the project/program.
Hiring and Training
