Reporting to the VP, Global Inclusion, the Senior Manager, Global Inclusion is responsible for advancing the Bank’s culture of Inclusion. This role will ensure that all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Manager is responsible for tracking and reporting project status, as needed, to ensure timelines are met according to agreed upon project timelines. This role will entail initiating, developing and delivering ongoing program communications and, as required, change management and training activities. The role will also include coordinating and preparing various executive level communications and materials as required.
The Senior Manager will collaborate with a range of interested parties to drive forward the design, development, and execution of the Global Inclusion strategy for the Bank and champions an inclusion focused culture to create a diverse and equitable environment to make Scotiabank the employer of choice for the diverse communities that we serve. As required, the Senior Manager will be responsible for playing a lead role in coordinating various strategic initiatives including planning, execution, ensuring alignment, consistency and communications globally.

Accountabilities - General
• Leads and drives an employee focused culture throughout the team to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Builds a collaborative and psychologically safe environment using a coaching mindset and behaviour; communicating vison/values and, managing succession and development planning for the team; supporting a environment.
• Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Collaborates with Indigenous Peoples COE in GHR to advance the inclusion and representation of Indigenous Peoples (aligned to the Employment Equity Program and Global Inclusion Strategy), while also supporting the advancement of Truth & Reconciliation across the Bank
Strategic Support
Supports the development of strategy and strategic priorities by:
Assists in the design and implementation of a Global Inclusion framework, tools, and processes to deliver on the Global Inclusion strategy and roadmap for positive and sustained impact.
Assist with the development and the implementation of in-depth strategy review process and report on status of initiatives for all regions within the Bank’s footprint.
Collaborates across functions, regions and BUs to deliver an actionable strategic plan.
Develops presentations and tools to facilitate communication of findings and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
Gathering necessary information and analyses from various sources and key stakeholders, to identify opportunities for synergies to drive operational awareness and meet business and talent objectives
Develops regular reporting on initiatives, tracking progress against accountabilities, timelines.
Supports the design and delivery of key strategic initiatives identified and provides recommendations for decision-making that will positively impact the sense of Belonging within the Bank.
Collaborates with HRBPs across business and functional lines to implement the Global Inclusion strategy across the enterprise, achieve goals, meet legislative requirements, and advance the enterprise Inclusion Council Governance Framework.
Manages the execution and results for strategic initiatives and projects:
Maintaining an in-depth understanding of industry trends and opportunities as related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to support the development of initiatives aligned with the bank’s and the department’s strategic priorities.
Building strategic relationships and developing strategic alliances in Scotiabank and also with external partners in the industry in order to manage change effectively.
Tracking, monitoring, and communicating the progress of initiatives against defined project milestones to ensure progress versus expectations.
Managing large-scale, multiple projects often involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and matrix governance. Monitoring project milestones, financial delivery, resource availability, issue management process and resolution
DEI Communication and Reporting support
In partnership with HR Insights and People Analytics, develop and implement reporting and analysis framework to inform reporting for the Global Inclusion strategy with consideration for business unit needs. Leading on Global Inclusion reporting to Executive committees, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
Driving thought leadership on measurement, outcomes, and innovative ways of measuring and discussing progress on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Support the development of internal and external Global Inclusion communications plans in collaboration with Global Human Resources Communications, and Marketing including Allyship spotlights. Leads on Global Inclusion communication, including SharePoint
Manage action-oriented content for strategic internal committees tailored to executive audience ensuring strong alignment and support for the All Bank Inclusion Council and Divisional Inclusion Councils.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
Minimum 5+ years of relevant business experience working with specific focus on strategic planning and development within the equity area
At least 5 years of leadership experience within the areas of DEI, change management, culture and project management
Experience in building and implementing a DEI strategy, with ability to construct and communicate status reporting/presentations for all levels within an organization
Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and results
Strong communication (oral and written) skills including using data and data insights to convey a consistent message of belonging within the Bank
Experience building and fostering strategic partnerships and leading a team of thought leaders
Ability to work well with all levels within the organization and handle sensitive issues with tact

Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Social Justice degree, desirable but not mandatory
