Senior Program Manager, IMO (Senior Integration Principal) 
Location: Toronto (Hybrid)
Contract: 12-month term with potential for extension

As Definity continues to execute its bold inorganic growth strategy, we are seeking a Senior Integration Principal to join the Integration Management Office (IMO) within the Corporate Strategy team. Reporting to the VP, Strategic Initiatives, this role will play a critical part in driving post-merger integration activities for a recently announced acquisition, ensuring alignment with Definity’s strategic objectives.

This role is ideal for a seasoned integration professional who thrives in complex environments and brings deep expertise in post-merger integration execution across business lines and corporate functions.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Integration Strategy Execution
    • Develop and manage detailed integration plans across multiple business lines and functions.
    • Translate strategic objectives into actionable integration roadmaps and milestones.
    • Analyze current-state operations and design integrated future-state models to support synergy realization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Facilitate alignment sessions and workshops with stakeholders across business units.
    • Identify and resolve cross-functional integration issues, risks, and dependencies.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned workstreams, providing insight and guidance to ensure successful execution.
  • Synergy & Operational Optimization
    • Identify and quantify synergies aligned with the strategic rationale of the acquisition.
    • Track and report on synergy realization and integration progress.
    • Recommend process improvements and system integrations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Change Enablement & Communication
    • Support cultural integration and change management initiatives.
    • Prepare and deliver integration updates, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
    • Maintain clear documentation and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in post-merger integration, corporate strategy, or transformation, ideally within financial services or management consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex integration programs as a senior individual contributor.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Undergraduate degree from a leading institution; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools; familiarity with Visio and MS Project is an asset.
  • Insurance industry experience is an asset.

This role is focused on M&A post-merger integration and not M&A pre-deal activities (due diligence, financial modeling, valuation etc.). Candidates without specific post-merger integration experience and only technology / systems integration, general strategy, corporate development, finance, investment banking experiences will not be considered for this role.

Salary range is: $101,000 - $186,000
