Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Senior Auditor – IT Audit & Data Analytics to design and develop data analytics workflows to support audit activities performed by the Internal Audit team. This includes creating repeatable data analytics to support continuous audit monitoring programs and support ad hoc data analytics requests which may come from the Internal Audit team. This role will also partner with internal auditors and the business to identify opportunities to utilize data analysis in evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls. This position reports to the Director, IT Internal Audit.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop repeatable data analytics workflows, including data extraction, storage, transformation, and processing, to support audit activities performed by the Internal Audit team.
- Use data analytics tools to analyze large volume of data for continuous auditing, IT General Control reviews, IT Compliance Audits and pre/post implementation reviews.
- Create data analytics to support IT Audit risk assessments and audit planning to address specific areas of risks identified.
- Interact with management and business partners to proactively identify key data sources and obtain access/feeds/files necessary to perform data analytics for testing and continuous monitoring.
- Navigate within organization’s ERP and other systems to locate, validate, extract, and format data for data analysis testing.
- Effectively document and communicate the results of data analysis in accordance with audit policy.
- Assist in the performance of audit investigations and assignments as required by the Director, IT Internal Audit and Chief Audit Executive.
- Train Internal Audit team members in the use of data analysis tools to develop expertise in these areas within the internal audit function.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience in data transformation and data visualization.
- PowerBI and SQL experience including automating workflows of medium to high technical complexity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with other software and/or programming languages and tools (Oracle ERP/EBS, Excel VBA etc.) preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting
- 4-7 years of data analytics experience.
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics techniques and best practices.
- Internal Audit experience is a plus.

Salary Range(s):
- Lower Mainland $92,600 - Lower Mainland $138,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
