We are looking for a Release Manager to oversee, automate and streamline the end-to-end release process for our application(s). This role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless delivery of software updates and new releases, managing risks and ensuring compliance with quality standards, while codifying it. The ideal candidate should have a strong programming and release management background, excellent project management skills and a passion for optimizing operational processes within an Agile environment.
You’ll be responsible to:
Develop and maintain release schedules, ensuring alignment with business goals and project timelines
Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely and smooth releases
Facilitate release readiness reviews, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and prepared for upcoming releases
Create and manage change tickets in accordance with change management procedures, ensuring all changes are documented, approved, and communicated to relevant stakeholders
Ensure all releases comply with regulatory requirements, security standards, and organizational policies
Serve as the primary point of contact for all release-related activities
Implement and refine release management processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
Work with relevant teams to enable monitoring and logging solutions to track the performance and reliability of releases, reporting on the release process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to drive efficiencies
Identify, document, and mitigate release-related risks and issues. Develop contingency plans to address potential problems and ensure minimal impact on operations
Codify and automate release process to reduce manual intervention
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reliability
Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing across Agile teams
Instill end-to-end ownership of products, projects, features, modules, and services that you and the team deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle
Communicate release plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at various levels

You bring:
5+ years of development experience
Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.
5+ years of professional experience in release management/similar role in software development environment
5+ years proficiency in using version control systems, such as Git, for managing codebases and collaboration
5+ years of experience with Agile development and Agile frameworks (JIRA, GitHub)
5+ years of experience in software lifecycle including release planning, time estimates, release processes, software testing, incident and issue management, monitoring & alerting and related
Proficiency with release management tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, JIRA)
Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML)
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Proficiency with Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Excellent project management skills, including experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, PowerBI)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Possess a strong understanding of software development methodologies, ISO 27001 and ITIL 4 best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across multiple functions
Experience from fintech or retail sector is a strong plus
