Responsibilities:
Ensures projects meets the minimum viable and practical solution to meet the business needs.
Updates the RACI through the lifecycle of the project through its different stages and gets the approval from the different stakeholders relevant to the project at the start of each stage Gate.
Manage project costs and schedule against approved baselines and monthly reforecasts.
Develop project execution strategies to successfully deliver the project within the project constraints.
Coordinate all design reviews, approvals, instructions etc.
Facilitates engineering, construction, commissioning, close out and handover phases.
Communication and Stakeholders management.
Receiving and issuing all Notices and Documents under the Contract.
Receive, validate, and communicate all progress updates (on a daily basis).
Organizes all project meetings & workshops.
Prepare all Contract changes, including PCN’s for review and approval of the Project Coordinator and Manager Engineering & Projects.
Review & approve Contractor’s schedule. Contractor schedules are to be approved to allow any variation to be approved.
Instructs and assesses all variations/Change Orders, Extensions of Time.
Receives, assesses and processes claims and payments.
Formally delegates tasks to the Support Team.
Develops/process project progress reporting.
Prepares detailed estimates as part of PIC/BUIC approval process through the lifecycle of the project.
Prepare PIC, BUIC and PGIC documentation to be reviewed by the Project Coordinator and Manager Engineering & Projects for review prior committees’ approval.
Provide support during PIC/BUIC committees’ approval.
Works with the Project Analyst to produce the cost file from the estimate and use it to track the project.
Files relevant information using project folders as per business requirements. Files are not to be kept in personal drives
Work with the procurement and contract team to issue Procurement and Contract Packages. Project Managers to ensure Time & Material contracts are only used by exemption with Measurable Quantities as the preferred option.
Completed bid reviews for Procurement and Construction packages.
Facilitate pre-mobilization meeting with the construction team to go through the readiness plan and completes and formalizes a readiness checklist.
Prepare PIC’s, BUIC’s & PGIC required documentation.
Prepare project specific documentation.
Prepare Minutes of Meeting for progress meetings and any other relevant meeting.
Prepare strategies and/or any other documentation/presentation required for the allocated project(s)
Prepare project monthly reports.
Produce contract directions (inc. Site Instructions) when and where relevant.
Prepare PCN’s for review and approval and update the global PCN register.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
University degree/diploma in Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering; or a technical college degree in a relevant field.
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
An Engineer-In-Training with related experience can be considered.
Project management training (PMP or master’s in project management) is a definitive asset.
8-10 years or more years of experience in construction/industrial environment.
A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service and financial responsibilities.
Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.
Managed 20M+ million-dollar multi-discipline projects is an asset
Experience in managing and delivery of capital brownfield projects from concept to close-out
Proven commercial acumen.
Knowledge of the organization's policies and standard practices.
Exposure to the client's project management is advantageous
