Overview

The Project Manager – Tax is responsible for all aspects of project management through an agile software development life cycle of a new and progressing software system being built to fundamentally disrupt the way business has been done in the past.  

 


What you will do

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software and data platform projects supporting asset management tax.
  • Collaborate closely with tax professionals, software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to define requirements, project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risks across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including roadmaps, status reports, and communication plans.
  • Ensure alignment of technical deliverables with business goals
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and drive continuous delivery and improvement.
  • Coordinate testing and deployment efforts in collaboration with QA and DevOps teams.
  • Identify and guide project risk factors and identify and resolve project issues; escalate issues as appropriate
  • Serve as an advocate of project management principles and standards
  • Manage internal and client-facing meetings by creating agendas with clear objectives/roles/time allocations, facilitating the call/meeting, taking notes of decisions and action items
  • Oversee the project change control process

What you bring to the role

  • 5-6 years of project management experience in software development or technology delivery.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams and complex projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines
  • Background in a tax, accounting, or financial services environment is a strong asset.
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall).
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, meeting facilitation, analytical, judgment and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Asana).
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and vice versa.
